About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Mechanical Engineering internship based in Portage, Michigan, for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site as part of a team focused on medical technology. Depending on your placement, you may join Research & Development, Product Engineering, or the Test Lab. This role requires you to be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Design new products and drive them through the process from concept to production.
- Research new technologies, customer feedback, and product performance data to improve existing or future designs.
- Design and build fixtures to simulate real-life situations for product testing.
- Perform quantitative testing to verify technical specifications.
- Document complex processes and present your findings in a clear, accessible format.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- You must remain enrolled in a degree-seeking program after the internship concludes.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
