About the role#
As a Plant Design Engineering Intern, you will work with engineers and designers on industrial facilities, equipment arrangements, piping systems, and integrated plant layouts. You will gain hands-on experience with technical design tools, project documentation, field conditions, and multidisciplinary coordination while contributing to active assignments.
What you'll do#
- Assist with plant layouts, equipment arrangements, piping drawings, models, reports, and project documentation.
- Support three-dimensional design and coordination of equipment, piping, access, maintenance, and facility systems.
- Participate in project meetings, model reviews, site visits, field observations, and collaboration across engineering disciplines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Completion of relevant engineering, drafting, design, manufacturing, or technical coursework.
- Basic understanding of industrial facilities, equipment, piping, or three-dimensional design concepts.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D, or similar design software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with internships, co-ops, drafting, or projects related to industrial or plant design is helpful.
- Familiarity with Plant 3D, Navisworks, ReCap, laser-scan data, or model coordination workflows is a plus.
- Involvement in ASME, SME, or related professional organizations is preferred.
