About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Stratus, you will work alongside engineers and designers on HVAC, plumbing, process, and other mechanical systems for infrastructure and building projects. You will gain exposure to mechanical design principles, energy efficiency, and project delivery while contributing to active assignments under the guidance of experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Assist with mechanical drawings, calculations, equipment research, reports, and project documentation.
- Support the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical systems.
- Participate in project meetings, site visits, field observations, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Completion of relevant engineering coursework, such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or HVAC.
- A basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Basic proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit and Microsoft Office applications.
- Preferred: Prior internship, co-op, or project experience related to mechanical or building systems design.
- Preferred: Familiarity with load calculation, energy modeling, or equipment selection software.
- Preferred: Involvement in professional organizations like ASHRAE or ASME.
