About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will support engineers and designers working on HVAC, plumbing, process, and other mechanical systems for building and infrastructure projects. You will gain hands-on exposure to mechanical design principles, load calculations, and technical software while contributing to active assignments with guidance from experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Assist with mechanical drawings, calculations, equipment research, reports, and other project documentation.
- Support the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, process, and related mechanical systems.
- Participate in project meetings, site visits, field observations, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Completion of relevant coursework in engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or HVAC.
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Basic proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit and Microsoft Office applications.
- Internship, co-op, or project experience related to mechanical or building systems design is preferred.
- Familiarity with load calculation, energy modeling, or equipment selection software is a plus.
- Involvement in ASHRAE, ASME, or related professional organizations is encouraged.
