About the role#
HDR is seeking a Mechanical Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Pittsburgh. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position within the Building Engineering department. You will work under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager to gain practical experience on various projects.
What you'll do#
- Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to project tasks.
- Gain real-world experience through hands-on project work.
- Connect with company leaders and recent graduates through mentoring and young professionals programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Mechanical Engineering program.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A commitment to participating in an employee-owned culture.
- Preferred: At least two years of degree progress with a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Preferred: Knowledge of industry-related software packages.
- Local candidates are preferred for this role.
