About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Swanson Rink, you will join our team to support building infrastructure projects. You will work alongside project managers and experienced engineers. We provide a training program designed to help you become an active member of our team while you gain hands-on experience.
What you'll do#
- Select HVAC systems for building applications.
- Plan and schedule new equipment or retrofit existing systems like air handlers and chillers.
- Design plumbing and sprinkler fire protection systems.
- Perform engineering calculations.
- Survey existing site conditions to plan new work.
- Conduct construction observations.
- Apply local and national building, mechanical, plumbing, fire, and fuel gas codes.
- Travel for client meetings and field surveys as needed.
- Participate in seminars and training events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's Degree program for Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering at an ABET accredited college or university.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass background checks, security screenings, or drug testing required by clients or Federal contracts.
