About the role#
As a Geomatic Engineering Intern, you will work with surveyors, engineers, and geospatial professionals. You will support land surveying, mapping, data collection, and spatial analysis for infrastructure and development projects. You will gain hands-on experience with technical design tools, project documentation, and field conditions while contributing to active assignments under the guidance of experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Assist with field surveys, measurements, data collection, calculations, mapping, drawings, and project documentation.
- Support boundary, topographic, construction, utility, and control survey activities.
- Process and organize survey, GPS, laser-scanning, drone, CAD, and GIS data for project use.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or associate degree program in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geographic Information Science, or a related field.
- Completion of relevant coursework in surveying, mapping, GIS, CAD, or mathematics.
- A basic understanding of surveying, geospatial data, coordinate systems, or mapping principles.
- Ability to perform fieldwork and use Microsoft Office along with basic CAD or GIS applications.
- Preferred experience includes previous internships, co-ops, or project work related to surveying, geomatics, mapping, or GIS.
- Familiarity with tools such as total stations, GNSS/GPS equipment, laser scanners, drones, Civil 3D, or ArcGIS is a plus.
- Involvement in professional organizations like NSPS, ASPRS, or ASCE is valued.
