About the role#
Stout is seeking an intern for the Valuation Advisory group to support the ESOP practice. You will work on engagements involving employee stock ownership plans, fairness and solvency opinions, and corporate planning. This position runs from January through April 30, 2027, with the potential to extend through May. You will work 15-30 hours per week based on your availability.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on industries, markets, and companies to support valuation benchmarks.
- Analyze complex financial statements to identify trends, risks, and value drivers.
- Prepare due diligence questions and review supporting documentation.
- Build and analyze financial models, including Discounted Cash Flow and Guideline Public Company methods.
- Select appropriate valuation methodologies and key assumptions using your own judgment.
- Attend client or management meetings to provide input on valuation conclusions.
- Create deliverables such as presentations, analysis packets, and written reports for review by senior professionals.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BA or BS degree, with junior or senior year preferred.
- Coursework in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
- A minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and explain findings clearly.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This internship is part-time and paid, with an hourly rate range of $20.00 - $40.00.
- You may work remotely from any location in the U.S. or on-site in our Chicago or New York offices.
