About the role#
The Transaction Opinions group provides fairness and solvency opinions, along with valuation advisory services, for mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, corporate spin-offs, and debt refinancings. As an intern, you will work directly with Stout professionals on real client engagements. This role offers exposure to senior-level professionals and the chance to build technical skills in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Conduct in-depth research on industries, markets, and companies to support valuation conclusions.
- Analyze complex financial statements to identify trends, risks, and value drivers.
- Develop detailed financial models, including Discounted Cash Flow, Guideline Public Company, and Merger and Acquisition analyses.
- Prepare due diligence questions and evaluate supporting documentation.
- Exercise independent judgment to select valuation methodologies and key assumptions.
- Participate in client and management meetings, providing input on findings.
- Create comprehensive deliverables, including presentations, analysis packets, and written narratives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BA or BS degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- A minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0, with 3.5 or higher preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and synthesize findings for clients.
- Relevant internship or extracurricular experience is a plus.
- Must be eligible to work in the US without employer sponsorship.
