About the role#
Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern or Co-op student to join the New York City team for the Spring 2027 semester. This position involves working on transportation and infrastructure projects, including roadways, parks, and transit facilities. You will work on-site in a professional office environment and perform field inspections as required.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers in preparing contract documents and technical reports.
- Perform computer-aided design and drafting tasks.
- Check drawings and engineering calculations.
- Conduct quantity take-offs for project estimates.
- Perform simple design calculations.
- Carry out field inspections, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program for Civil Engineering.
- Good academic standing at an accredited engineering school.
- Prior exposure to CAD software such as AutoCAD or Microstation.
- Availability for a 40-hour work week.
- Experience with Civil 3D, Bentley Inroads, or Openroads Designer is preferred.
