About the role#
StandardAero is seeking students for the Summer 2027 term to join our Engineering team in North Kansas City. This internship provides hands-on industry experience where you will learn from experts and collaborate on projects that support our aviation maintenance and repair operations.
What you'll do#
You will work on a variety of engineering tasks, which may include:
- Researching the viability of new programs and presenting statistics.
- Managing and updating databases.
- Conducting failure analysis and investigations.
- Improving efficiency, streamlining processes, or identifying cost savings.
- Performing studies or surveys and analyzing the results.
- Creating employee manuals and process documentation.
- Conducting cost benefit analyses for material or machine upgrades.
- Designing tooling or ground support equipment.
- Leading continuous improvement projects to achieve measurable results.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of an engineering curriculum.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
- Experience with project management, CAD, and simulation software is desired.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles is helpful.
- A Lean Green Belt certification or prior project experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
