About the role#
The KIP State Policy Intern joins the Pacific Legal Foundation to support efforts in defending individual liberty. This internship is part of the Koch Internship Program, which combines professional development with hands-on work at non-profit organizations. You will contribute to the State Policy team by assisting with legislative research, drafting policy documents, and supporting the team's ongoing advocacy goals.
What you'll do#
- Draft legislation and model bills to support policy initiatives.
- Write one-pagers, research memos, blog posts, and op-eds.
- Conduct legislative and background research.
- Review proposed legislation and provide direct support to the State Policy team.
What you'll need#
- Status as a college junior, senior, graduate student, or recent graduate.
- A principled passion for individual liberty and knowledge of its core concepts.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- An inquisitive and creative approach to problem solving.
- Genuine curiosity about the law and public policy.
Location & details#
- This is a part-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term.
- The role is remote, though interns may request to work from offices in Arlington, Virginia, or Sacramento, California.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
