About the role#
Specter Aerospace is seeking a Front-End Software Developer Co-op for a 4-6 month term. This role focuses on developing user interfaces, data dashboards, and facility control applications for propulsion operations. You will work alongside controls and propulsion engineers to support experimental and flight vehicle programs, taking ownership of projects from initial concept through implementation and documentation.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement user interfaces for monitoring propulsion operations and interacting with engine test facility control systems.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop charts, figures, and visualizations for critical diagnostic data.
- Coordinate with controls and propulsion engineers to develop new features for existing facility-control GUIs.
- Support the integration of front-end applications with time-series and relational databases.
- Develop testing protocols for software shakedown, debugging, and validation of control-system interfaces and data pipelines.
- Participate in technical meetings and contribute to software design and usability discussions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Experience developing front-end applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or comparable frameworks.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience with software testing, debugging, and technical documentation.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
