About the role#
Specter Aerospace is seeking a Front-End Software Developer Co-op for a 4-6 month cycle. This position involves contributing to the development of user interfaces, data dashboards, and facility control applications for propulsion operations. You will work directly with controls and propulsion engineers to develop systems supporting experimental and flight vehicle programs, taking ownership of projects from initial concept through implementation and documentation.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement user interfaces for monitoring propulsion operations and interacting with test facility control systems.
- Coordinate with controls and propulsion engineers to develop new features for facility-control GUIs.
- Collaborate on the creation of charts, figures, and visualizations for critical diagnostic data.
- Support the integration of front-end applications with time-series and relational databases.
- Develop testing protocols for software shakedown, debugging, and validation of control-system interfaces and data pipelines.
- Participate in technical meetings and contribute to software design and usability discussions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience developing front-end applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or similar frameworks.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Experience with software testing, debugging, and technical documentation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
