About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will join the Technology Department for a full-time, 12-week program during Summer 2027. You will contribute to real-time projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help advance company initiatives. Interns support various teams, including Air Operations, Crew Technology, Revenue Management, and Tech Operations. You will have the opportunity to develop professional skills while making a direct impact on systems that support airline performance and operations.
What you'll do#
- Analyze, design, write, test, document, and implement application systems.
- Respond to production problems and implement resolution efforts.
- Maintain awareness of current technology trends.
- Meet commitments and deliverables for assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
- Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Coursework or experience with Java, JavaScript, C#, Python, or Node.js.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services, event streaming (Apache Kafka), RESTful APIs, and microservices.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile or Scaled Agile (SAFe) methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, service-oriented environment.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old with a valid U.S. Social Security Number.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position. You may be required to travel for trainings, meetings, or conferences.
- Note: Residents of Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, Maryland, Montana, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming, and Puerto Rico are ineligible for this remote role.
- Employment is full-time (40 hours per week).
- Internship dates are May 18, 2027, through August 8, 2027.
- Compensation is $26 - $30 per hour, based on progress toward degree completion.
