About the role#
Space Dynamics Laboratory is looking for a part-time IT Service Desk Assistant to join our team in North Logan. This role focuses on supporting our internal employees by maintaining computer systems and managing technical requests. You will work on-site, balancing your schedule with your academic commitments at Utah State University.
What you'll do#
- Provide reliable support to employees through phone calls, walk-ins, and ticket submissions.
- Image and configure computer workstations and systems.
- Manage user accounts and password changes for new and departing staff.
- Track IT assets and maintain accurate inventory.
- Document all service requests and interactions in our ticket management system.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across Windows and some Linux environments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Utah State University with at least one year of school remaining.
- Pursuit of a degree or certification in computer science, business, or a related field.
- U.S. citizenship or status as a lawful permanent resident.
- Possession of a valid CompTIA Security+ certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
- Proven experience troubleshooting computer hardware and software.
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and navigate the facility.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Location & details#
- Location: North Logan, Utah.
- Modality: This is an on-site position.
- Schedule: 20-25 hours per week during the school year, with the expectation of 40 hours per week during summer and school breaks.
