About the role#
This co-op position supports the Thermoplastic Polyurethane business in New Martinsville, West Virginia. You will work alongside staff to support operations and automation activities. The program provides assignments that grow in difficulty based on your academic training and individual ability.
What you'll do#
- Conduct or support automation strategies using Distributive Control Systems and Pi systems.
- Prepare CAD models for operating unit processes.
- Design and implement small projects as needed.
- Support the preventive maintenance plan for critical equipment within the SAP environment.
- Prepare reports, information, and presentations for operations efforts.
- Perform P&ID modifications.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Completion of your Sophomore or Junior year of college by the time of hire.
- Participation in a college co-op program.
- A college GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Hands-on mechanical capabilities.
- Familiarity with extrusion processes and equipment like pumps, piping, valving, and steam.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with SAP, DCS, Pi, CAD, and automation software is preferred.
