About the role#
The Safety Engineering Intern supports the Health and Safety team by maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. You will analyze safety trends, conduct audits, and develop improvement plans. This role provides hands-on experience in risk assessment, safety culture development, and engineering controls. You will work on an assigned project throughout the summer and present your findings at a final project expo.
What you'll do#
- Propose engineering controls like machine guarding and fall protection enhancements.
- Perform compliance audits and self-assessments based on OSHA standards.
- Apply risk assessment methods to evaluate workplace hazards.
- Create and deliver safety training materials.
- Join Kaizen events and hazard identification activities.
- Analyze safety data and report on incident trends.
- Maintain safety documentation and compliance records.
- Research best practices to improve workplace safety culture.
- Collaborate on safety improvement projects with team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Environmental Health and Safety or Industrial Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.

- Location: Carrollton, Georgia.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 17th to August 6th).
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: Paid internship.
