About the role#
SMBC Group offers a 10-week summer internship within the Finance and Strategic Planning Department. This program provides exposure to firm-wide projects and supports various client deals. Interns work within the Corporate Treasury or Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) teams. The Treasury function handles capital planning, stress testing, and liquidity management. The FP&A team manages budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to inform management decisions. This program serves as a pipeline to the full-time Analyst Program.
What you'll do#
- Build financial models and analyze data to support business decisions.
- Develop client presentations and conduct research.
- Participate in client meetings.
- Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Engage in orientation training, mentorship opportunities, and social networking activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program with a graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- An excellent academic record.
- Advanced skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact with clients in a professional and mature manner.
