About the role#
The SMBC Summer Intern Program is a 10-week experience for undergraduate students. You will join the Risk Management team to support firm-wide projects and client deals. This program serves as a pipeline for our full-time Analyst Program. You will gain exposure to the banking industry through training, mentorship, and on-the-desk experience.
What you'll do#
- Build financial models to support various client transactions.
- Develop presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct research on market conditions and risk factors.
- Participate in client meetings.
- Collaborate with team members to monitor risks and maintain sound management frameworks.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Economics.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- Advanced skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with clients.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- This internship is located in New York, New York.
- The term is Summer 2027.
- This is a full-time, paid position.
- We operate on a hybrid work model. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the office.
