    About the role#

    The Development Engineer Intern supports the project development process for Distributed Generation projects, including Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Nashville, Tennessee, running from April or May 2027 through mid-August 2027.

    What you'll do#

    • Support engineering and sales teams during project development.
    • Develop proposals and necessary supporting documents.
    • Analyze solar and BESS projects to determine feasibility, including project costs and ROI.
    • Collaborate with the engineering team to help develop plan sets under direct supervision.
    • Prepare and review submittal packages for accuracy and alignment with proposal goals.
    • Manage document control processes and maintain internal documentation within the collaborative IT environment.
    • Perform ad-hoc reporting and other tasks as required.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in engineering, environmental studies, or business.
    • Previous work experience involving collaboration with others.
    • Basic knowledge of electrical or power systems.
    • Experience acting as a sales liaison or collaborating with clients in the energy or related industries.
    • Proficiency with MS Office software.
    • Professional communication skills.
    • Willingness to support and participate in continuous process and quality improvement.
    • Ability to travel up to 30 percent of the time.
