About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in a professional newsroom. Interns will contribute to news coverage across broadcast and digital platforms while learning the mechanics of modern journalism. The role is based in Austin, Texas, for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist in researching, writing, and producing news stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Work alongside reporters, anchors, producers, and photographers in the newsroom and in the field.
- Bring fresh story ideas to the table and help shape coverage.
- Learn how to shoot video and frame compelling visuals.
- Gain exposure to control room operations and the production of live broadcasts.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be at least a sophomore at an accredited college or university.
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or be a recent graduate.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Political Science, or English.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must have reliable transportation.
