About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work within the ARC news concept at KATV, which focuses on authentic, relevant, and community-centered storytelling. Interns will contribute to multi-platform journalism, gaining experience in a professional newsroom environment for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist in researching, writing, and producing news stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Work alongside reporters, anchors, producers, and photographers in the newsroom and in the field.
- Bring fresh story ideas to the table to help shape local coverage.
- Learn to shoot video and frame compelling visuals.
- Gain exposure to control room operations and the production of live broadcasts.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate.
- Must be at least a sophomore at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or Political Science.
- Ability to start between August 24th and September 14th.
- Passion for local news, storytelling, and community impact.
- Reliable transportation.

- Location: Little Rock, Arkansas.
- Modality: On-site at KATV.
- Term: Fall 2026 (approximately 15 hours per week for 10 weeks).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
