About the role#
KATV is seeking a News Intern for the Fall 2026 term to contribute to the ARC news concept. This role focuses on authentic, community-focused storytelling across broadcast and digital platforms. You will work within a professional newsroom environment to support the production of content that informs and connects the local audience.
What you'll do#
- Assist in researching, writing, and producing news stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Work alongside reporters, anchors, producers, and photographers in the newsroom and in the field.
- Bring fresh story ideas to the table to help shape coverage.
- Learn how to shoot video and frame compelling visuals.
- Gain exposure to control room operations and the production of live broadcasts.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate.
- Ability to start between August 24th and September 14th.
- Reliable transportation.
- A passion for local news, storytelling, and community impact.
- Academic background in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or Political Science.
