About the role#
This Software Engineering Internship is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027. You will work on-site in Sparks, Nevada, gaining hands-on experience in the aerospace and defense industry. You will be paired with industry professionals to contribute to actual technical projects and develop your engineering skills.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to team objectives by completing assigned technical tasks.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and records.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret technical data to support engineering decisions.
- Attend planning meetings to learn about project requirements, timelines, and goals.
- Perform hands-on technical work to build practical experience.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and support best practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university or college program pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Status as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in college or technical school.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

- Physical requirements: Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods, manual dexterity for handling tools, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. You may work in a laboratory or workshop environment.
