About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Columbia, Maryland. You will work on-site to support the development of software for tactical radio equipment. This role follows a 9/80 schedule, meaning you work 80 hours over 9 days and have every other Friday off.
What you'll do#
- Apply computer science, engineering, and math principles to software development.
- Work with cross-functional teams to design interfaces between hardware and software.
- Participate in the full software development life cycle, including requirements, design, implementation, and testing of embedded software.
- Create software test procedures, programs, and documentation.
- Use modeling tools to collect operating data and evaluate experimental results.
- Review code with peers, track defects, and make repairs.
- Write code using languages such as C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, and Qt across Windows, Linux, and embedded real-time operating systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, or Digital Arts & Sciences at an accredited university.
