About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Co-op, you will gain hands-on experience with the power, lighting, and low-voltage systems that support functional and efficient spaces. You will work alongside engineers and architects to translate design intent into buildable electrical solutions. This role provides exposure to the full project lifecycle and the opportunity to collaborate with professionals across architecture, interior design, and engineering disciplines.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and documentation of electrical building systems.
- Support lighting and load calculations.
- Coordinate electrical layouts within Revit models.
- Contribute to drawing sets and schedules for design development and construction documentation.
- Learn how electrical systems integrate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural elements.
- Participate in interdisciplinary problem-solving with architects, interior designers, and engineers.
- Support sustainability and energy-related efforts, including lighting efficiency and code compliance.
What you'll need#
- Status as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree.
- Interest or coursework related to electrical or building systems.
- Curiosity about how electrical infrastructure supports architectural design and occupant experience.
- Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office.
- Exposure to lighting software, AutoCAD, or electrical analysis tools is a plus.
- A detail-oriented and analytical mindset.
- An eagerness to learn within a collaborative studio environment.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2027 term.
- The role is based on-site in Cincinnati, OH, Columbus, OH, or Greensboro, NC.
