About the role#
The Supply Chain Intern position is a summer-long assignment based at our manufacturing and distribution site in Garland, Texas. You will assist the site Supply Chain Manager with day-to-day tasks and special projects, gaining exposure to how our Global Supply Chain operates.
What you'll do#
- Support and participate in employee engagement initiatives and site events.
- Work with the Inventory Planning Manager on monthly production, sales, and inventory projections.
- Analyze the manufacturing supply network for finished goods.
- Assist Master Production Schedulers with daily report generation.
- Complete continuous improvement forecasting projects and review statistical forecasts.
- Identify and review low-frequency purchased items.
- Manage inventory reduction projects, including updating IQR, performing min stock reviews, and reviewing weekly lists.
- Help balance inventories at distribution centers.
- Review forecasts and batch sizes to ensure appropriate production levels.
- Engage in early career development programming, such as workshops and networking sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university as a rising or current junior or senior.
- Pursuit of a degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related Operations field.
- At least one year of work experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented setting.
- Minimum age of eighteen.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
- Previous Sherwin-Williams internship or co-op experience is preferred.
