About the role#
This internship is a summer-long assignment based at our Fernley, Nevada site. You will support the Supply Chain Manager with daily tasks and special projects. This role is designed to help you gain experience by assisting team members in achieving operational goals. You will also participate in early career development programming, including workshops and networking opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Support and participate in employee engagement initiatives and site events.
- Work with the Inventory Planning Manager on monthly production, sales, and inventory projections.
- Analyze the manufacturing supply network for finished goods.
- Assist Master Production Schedulers with daily reports.
- Conduct continuous improvement forecasting projects and review statistical forecasts.
- Identify and review low frequency purchased items.
- Manage inventory reduction projects, including updating IQR, Min Stock Reviews, and weekly reviews of Always In lists.
- Learn Global Supply Chain operating systems.
- Help balance inventories at distribution centers.
- Review forecasts and batch sizes to ensure appropriate production levels.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college or university at the time of the program.
- At least one year of work experience using Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without needing sponsorship.
- Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Rising or current junior or senior status in college or university.
- Previous experience in a team-oriented setting.
- Previous Sherwin-Williams internship or co-op experience is preferred.
