About the role#
The Operations Intern role is a summer assignment based at our Garland, Texas facility. You will assist the site Operations Manager with daily tasks and special projects. This role is designed to provide exposure to manufacturing and distribution operations while supporting team goals.
What you'll do#
- Assist with planning daily work schedules.
- Support site safety programs.
- Work with the filling department as needed.
- Learn inventory, routing, and shipping procedures.
- Review the quality of production orders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across production processes.
- Support and participate in employee engagement initiatives and site events.
- Engage in early career development programming, including workshops and networking opportunities.
- Handle special projects as identified by the Operations Manager.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college or university at the time of the internship.
- Status as a rising or current junior or senior.
- Pursuing a degree in Operations, such as Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management.
- At least one year of work experience using Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented setting.
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Previous Sherwin-Williams internship or co-op experience is preferred.
