About the role#
The Operations Intern role is a summer-long assignment hosted by the Operations Department at our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky. You will assist the Operations Manager with day-to-day tasks and special projects, working alongside team members to achieve site goals.
What you'll do#
- Assist with planning daily work schedules.
- Support site safety programs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across production processes.
- Work with the filling department and review the quality of production orders.
- Gain understanding of inventory, routing, and shipping procedures.
- Participate in employee engagement initiatives and site events to promote a positive workplace culture.
- Engage in early career development programming, including workshops, info sessions, and networking opportunities.
- Complete special projects as assigned by the Operations Manager.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college or university program.
- Status as a rising or current junior or senior.
- Pursuit of a degree in an Operations-related field, such as Industrial Management, Supply Chain, Engineering Technology, or Logistics.
- At least one year of work experience using Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented setting, whether through work, extracurricular activities, or military service.
- Ability to work legally in the United States without sponsorship.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Previous Sherwin-Williams internship or co-op experience is preferred.
