About the role#
The Operations Intern role is a summer assignment based at our Kankakee, Illinois facility. You will assist the Operations Manager with day-to-day tasks and special projects. This position provides exposure to manufacturing and distribution processes while allowing you to contribute to team goals.
What you'll do#
- Assist with planning daily work schedules.
- Support site safety programs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work with the filling department as needed.
- Review the quality of production orders.
- Gain an understanding of inventory, routing, and shipping procedures.
- Complete special projects as identified by the Operations Manager.
- Participate in employee engagement initiatives and site events.
- Engage in early career development programming, including workshops and networking opportunities through the GSC Program Team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university, specifically as a rising or current junior or senior.
- Pursuit of a degree in Operations, such as Industrial Management, Supply Chain, Engineering Technology, or Logistics.
- At least one year of work experience using Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous experience in a team-oriented setting, such as work, extracurricular activities, or military service.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Previous Sherwin-Williams internship or co-op experience is preferred.
