About the role#
The Management and Sales Internship is a paid, 10 to 12-week summer program. It provides hands-on experience in retail store operations, sales, and management. You will gain insight into a career in outside sales by traveling with a Sales Representative and working directly with your management team. You will also collaborate with other interns on a project that addresses a real business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Ensure a welcoming environment and positive customer experience.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items that meet customer needs.
- Contribute to sales goals through effective support.
- Develop a strong understanding of store merchandise.
- Restock shelves, support inventory management, and assist with visual merchandising.
- Process point-of-sale transactions, mix products, and handle general store maintenance.
- Unload deliveries, organize stockrooms, and ensure efficient inventory flow.
- Participate in required training and follow store policies.
- Support team members in resolving basic customer concerns and completing shared tasks.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university, specifically as a rising or current Junior or Senior.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in Spanish.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- At least one year of experience in a delivery, retail, or customer service role.
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
- Willingness to work scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- If currently employed by Sherwin-Williams, you must have a "meets expectations" rating on your most recent appraisal and have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
