About the role#
The Management and Sales Internship is a paid, 10-12 week summer program. It provides hands-on experience in retail stores, offering insight into management, sales, and store operations. You will work in a paint store to gain business-to-business and retail experience. The program includes traveling with a Sales Representative and working with store management. You will also complete a team-based project that addresses a real business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items that meet customer needs.
- Contribute to sales goals through effective support.
- Develop a strong understanding of store merchandise to answer inquiries and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves, support inventory management, and contribute to visual merchandising.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Help with unloading deliveries, organizing stockrooms, and ensuring efficient inventory flow.
- Participate in training sessions and adhere to store policies, including safety, HR guidelines, and loss prevention.
- Support team members in resolving basic customer concerns and completing shared tasks.
- Collaborate with fellow interns on a project, contribute ideas, and present outcomes to demonstrate teamwork and problem-solving skills.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university, specifically a rising or current Junior or Senior at the start of the program.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Willingness to work scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
- If currently employed by the company, you must have a meets expectations rating on your most recent appraisal and have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
