About the role#
The Sherwin-Williams Management and Sales Internship is a paid, 10-12-week summer program. It provides hands-on experience in retail stores, offering insight into management, sales, and store operations. You will work alongside management teams and travel with Sales Representatives to learn about business-to-business and retail environments. Interns also collaborate on a team-based project that addresses a real business challenge. Following the program, interns are encouraged to apply to the full-time Management and Sales Training Program.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items to customers.
- Develop a strong understanding of store merchandise.
- Restock shelves, support inventory management, and contribute to visual merchandising.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Unload deliveries, organize stockrooms, and manage inventory flow.
- Participate in training sessions and follow store policies.
- Support team members in resolving customer concerns and completing shared tasks.
- Collaborate with fellow interns on a project addressing a business challenge.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a rising or current Junior or Senior in college or university.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university program, such as Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, with preference for Spanish proficiency.
- At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented setting.
- A valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
- Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Internal candidates must have a meets expectations rating or higher on their most recent performance appraisal and have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
