About the role#
The Trade & Working Capital Solution Internship is a full-time, paid position for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the Global Transaction Banking team to assist in executing trade and working capital solutions for clients across Canada and the United States. This role focuses on supporting client relationships, managing transactions, and ensuring all activities align with bank policies and risk management standards.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside the Director, Head, and Associate Directors to provide tailored solutions for clients.
- Contribute to client pitches, transactions, and business plans.
- Identify market trends to generate new business opportunities.
- Manage customer requests for new instrument issuances, amendments, and credit facilities.
- Conduct risk assessments and prepare credit presentations and recommendations.
- Review product terms and credit or legal documentation to close transactions.
- Lead the end-to-end onboarding process for new clients by coordinating with internal partners.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure solutions remain within the bank's risk appetite.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- Experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, and structuring.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and active listening skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- An understanding of the cross-border nature of trade and working capital solutions.
- A focus on managing operational and enterprise risk.
- Interest in a client-facing role with ongoing deliverables.
