About the role#
This is a full-time internship for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to April. You will join the Velocity program, which provides a customized experience focused on professional development and hands-on experience within the banking industry.
What you'll do#
- Perform data exploration on various sources and assist with model training.
- Productionalize advanced analytics models according to bank standards.
- Collaborate with Security, Privacy, Data Office, Analytics, and Technology teams.
- Automate data pipelines and trigger actions to streamline business processes.
- Build mechanisms for stakeholders to monitor model performance.
- Monitor model run times and work on continuous optimization.
- Oversee data pipelines, liaise with vendors, and coordinate with source systems groups.
- Migrate data pipelines and models to new analytics platforms.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Data Science.
- Strong attitude, ownership, and opportunity mindset.
- Experience with Big Data technologies like Hive, Beeline, HDFS, Sqoop, and Spark.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms including GCP, Azure, or AWS.
- Familiarity with MinIO Data Storage, Airflow, and Trino.
- Proficiency with DB2 and SQL Server.
- Experience with Python, R, Shell scripting, and Linux/Unix environments.
- Understanding of CI/CD tools such as BitBucket, Jenkins, and Artifactory.

- This role is located in Toronto, Ontario.
- The position is on-site and requires 37.5 hours per week.
- This is a paid internship.
