About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the Scotiatrust Taxation Services unit to support business goals and team initiatives. This position requires on-site work in Toronto.
What you'll do#
- Prepare income tax returns by gathering and analyzing supporting documentation like income statements, tax slips, and capital gains records.
- Consult with team members on tax rules and elections to assess client situations.
- Perform research and detailed analysis to provide suggestions for courses of action in less complex cases.
- Maintain a customer-focused approach to help deepen client relationships.
- Ensure all work complies with internal policies, governing regulations, and the Bank's risk appetite.
- Adhere to Global Sales Practices and business controls regarding operational and regulatory risk.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, specifically in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with or knowledge of tax preparation programs, Salesforce, and the Broadridge Trust System.
- Strong writing skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and take initiative.
- A focus on customer service and strong organizational habits.
