About the role#
This internship provides post-secondary students with direct exposure to the full-service wealth management business at ScotiaMcLeod. You will work alongside advisors and team members to support business development, daily administration, and special projects. This role is a full-time, paid position based in Victoria, British Columbia.
What you'll do#
- Process client requests and open new accounts while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Liaise with internal teams to resolve client issues.
- Prepare meeting agendas, professional checklists, and client presentations.
- Build and maintain prospect databases and profiles to identify new relationships.
- Support marketing efforts and client events.
- Acquire knowledge of bank policies, products, and services.
- Attend bi-weekly team meetings and monthly networking sessions to learn about the broader wealth management business.
- Collaborate with business partners on assigned projects and initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, preferably in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize risk.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with Python and implementing AI tools.
