About the role#
CIBC is hiring a Quality Assurance Analyst for a Winter 2027 co-op term. This role sits within the Risk Management team and focuses on evaluating adherence to quality and productivity metrics across various banking functions. You will work in a hybrid environment, typically spending 1-3 days per week on-site in Toronto.
What you'll do#
- Conduct independent file-level reviews to evaluate adherence to established quality and productivity metrics.
- Assess compliance with credit policies, procedures, and delegated lending authorities for underwriters, lenders, and agents.
- Identify gaps in processes and provide actionable insights for improvement.
- Support quality reviews across Private Wealth, Capital Markets, and Indirect Auto.
- Act as a key liaison for internal and external audits, including the provision of information and support for corrective actions.
- Analyze policy trends and issues that may expose the bank to risk.
- Participate in team meetings to share expertise and champion best practices for process enhancements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary institution with a plan to return to full-time studies after the term.
- Enrollment in a Masters or MBA program.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in credit risk, compliance, or quality assurance within the financial services sector.
- Demonstrated experience in credit adjudication or underwriting.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Analytical and detail-oriented mindset with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Adaptability and strong organizational skills to manage shifting priorities.
- Assets include a background in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or Computer Science, bilingualism in English and French, and familiarity with internal systems such as COINS, CLASS, M-MORTGAGE, LCMS, ECIF, SAVVY, TARGET, ICBS, or CRS.
