About the role#
As a Relationship Manager Intern, you will manage a portfolio of small business clients. You act as an ambassador to the local business market, providing financial advice to help clients start, manage, and grow their enterprises. You will build new business and strengthen existing relationships while working alongside other bank advisors and specialists.
What you'll do#
- Acquire and grow client relationships by delivering tailored financial advice.
- Proactively contact clients and conduct discovery sessions to understand their needs.
- Plan and prioritize market activities and introduce clients to internal partners to meet their business and personal financial goals.
- Manage risk and perform due diligence in all banking procedures, creating action plans to address potential concerns.
- Promote digital banking tools to help clients engage through their preferred channels.
- Visit clients on-site to gain a deep understanding of their business operations.
What you'll need#
- Skills in business development, client acquisition, and prospecting.
- Experience building and using professional networks within the local business community.
- A track record in client relationship management.
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of credit, including risk assessments, financial analysis, and deal presentations.
- Understanding of a wide range of business and personal financial products.
- Completion of the Commercial Banking Advisor training program, experience as a small business owner, or background in a similar field is preferred.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
