About the role#
You will manage a portfolio of small business clients, helping them start, manage, and grow their enterprises. As a representative of the bank in the local market, you will focus on external marketing and client acquisition to develop new business and deepen existing relationships. You will work alongside other advisors and specialists to create a positive experience for every client.
What you'll do#
- Acquire and grow client relationships by providing tailored financial advice.
- Contact clients proactively to gather insights and understand their changing needs.
- Plan and prioritize market activities to find new opportunities and make introductions to internal partners.
- Manage risk and exercise due diligence in all banking procedures, creating action plans to address concerns.
- Visit clients on-site to gain a deep understanding of their business operations and objectives.
- Champion digital tools by advocating for mobile and online applications to help clients engage through their preferred channels.
What you'll need#
- Strong skills in business development, client acquisition, and prospecting.
- A proven track record in managing client relationships.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of credit, risk assessments, financial analysis, and deal presentations is an asset.
- Familiarity with a broad range of business and personal financial products.
- Completion of the Commercial Banking Advisor training program or previous experience as a small business owner is preferred.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The role is based on-site in Kenora, Dryden, or Fort Frances, Ontario.
- The position follows a rolling term.
