About the role#
The Sales and Trading Intern Co-op is a four-month position within the Global Banking and Markets division. You will join the interest rate and foreign exchange derivatives sales team in Montreal. The role focuses on helping corporate and commercial clients hedge financial risks. You will also participate in a mentorship program and a capstone project to build professional relationships across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Build an understanding of financial markets, global interest rates, and FX price movements.
- Support senior sales staff by managing client inquiries, calls, and trade requests.
- Monitor option expiries and maintain trade databases.
- Generate economic reports and presentations for internal and external partners.
- Use Bloomberg for pricing, data collection, and analysis.
- Collaborate with teams in Corporate and Investment Banking, Trading, and Risk.
- Ensure compliance with bank policies to protect against loss or unnecessary risk.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or MBA program in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Mathematics.
- A strong interest in and knowledge of financial markets.
- A record of achievement in academic and extracurricular activities.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Capacity to adapt to a changing work environment.
- Proficiency in VBA, Python, or other programming languages is considered an asset.
