About the role#
The ASPIRE Commercial Banking program at Roynat Capital offers students hands-on experience in the Canadian commercial banking sector. You will work with a team that supports businesses through specialized financing solutions and strategic transactions. This role involves analyzing businesses, assessing risk, and supporting underwriting activities to help companies pursue growth, expansion, and acquisitions.
What you'll do#
- Support Relationship Managers in acquiring new clients and managing the loan process.
- Strengthen client relationships by learning about their businesses and industries.
- Build a network with partners within Roynat and across Scotiabank.
- Perform financial analysis and prepare investment summaries.
- Identify strategies to mitigate risk while following underwriting requirements.
- Deliver a range of products and services to ensure efficient turnaround times.
- Foster a client-focused culture in day-to-day activities.
- Apply the Bank's risk appetite and culture to all decisions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good presentation skills and a professional demeanor.
- A natural curiosity and eagerness to learn about commercial banking.
- Advanced coursework in corporate finance, valuation, financial modeling, mergers and acquisitions, or investment analysis is an asset.
