About the role#
This is a full-time internship for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to April. You will join the Scotiatrust tax services team in Montreal to support business strategies and commercial objectives. This role requires on-site attendance at our Montreal office.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns by gathering and analyzing supporting documents like financial statements, transaction records, and tax slips.
- Evaluate client tax situations, conduct detailed research, and suggest action plans for less complex cases.
- Discuss tax rules and choices with tax agents and managers.
- Promote a client-focused culture to build and maintain relationships.
- Apply the bank's risk appetite and culture to daily decisions.
- Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, sales practices, and regulatory requirements, including AML and ATF standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
- Strong computer skills.
- Proficiency in French and sufficient English to collaborate with teams in Toronto and communicate with clients.
- A desire to learn and an interest in extracurricular activities like clubs or competitions.
