About the role#
Scot Forge is hiring two Process Engineering Interns for the summer of 2027 at our corporate facility in Spring Grove, Illinois. This role focuses on manufacturing processes for forgings. You will gain experience in manufacturing design and product requirements through hands-on project work.
What you'll do#
- Provide SolidWorks support.
- Standardize order entry practices.
- Build PES wizards to automate simple specifications and improve productivity.
- Investigate test quantity discrepancies between the lab, Process Engineering, and Information Technology teams.
- Research and review Non-Compliance Reports.
- Facilitate reviews with subject matter experts.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Status as a rising junior or higher at the start of the internship.
- Intermediate skills in SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret complex specification wording.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to shift focus frequently based on departmental needs.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to pass a 90-day head hair drug test.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Spring Grove, Illinois.
- The position is paid and includes a profit-sharing bonus.
