About the role#
Scot Forge is hiring two Manufacturing Engineer Interns for the summer of 2027. Based at our corporate facility in Spring Grove, Illinois, this role provides exposure to the daily tasks and projects of our machining operations. You will work alongside our engineering and production teams on real-world assignments.
What you'll do#
- Support manufacturing through problem solving during program launches, setup, rework, and continuous improvement.
- Analyze process capabilities and control limits to improve quality.
- Identify solutions to improve factory throughput and balance while reducing bottlenecks, cycle times, scrap, and waste.
- Create, update, and maintain routings, work instructions, and blueprints to meet customer specifications.
- Design and present fixture and tool designs for CNC machines.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or a related Technology degree.
- Must be a rising Junior or higher at the start of the internship.
- Knowledge of project management, including project scopes, schedules, and deliverables.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM software.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes and CNC machinery.
- Knowledge of Geometrical Tolerance specification and application.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and pass a drug test.
