About the role#
We are seeking a full-time Civil Engineering intern to join our team for the summer of 2027. You will work under the supervision of senior engineering staff to apply professional principles to real-world projects. This role focuses on building your practical knowledge through a mix of office and field assignments.
What you'll do#
- Perform geotechnical field work, including subsurface exploration, GPS boring layouts, and infiltration testing.
- Conduct construction observation and materials testing at various project sites.
- Complete laboratory testing tasks.
- Prepare basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS software.
- Assist engineers with the preparation of geotechnical proposals and reports.
- Travel as needed to support project requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science program in Civil Engineering. Students in other engineering or relevant science programs may be considered.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and computer literacy.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team under supervision.
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks in both office and field settings.
- A desire to work outdoors and the ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
- A valid U.S. driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
- Preference is given to junior, senior, and graduate students, those pursuing a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, and candidates with prior professional or internship experience.

- This position is based in Owings Mills, Maryland.
- The role is on-site and full-time, running from May through August 2027.
- This is a paid internship.
