About the role#
Schnabel Engineering is hiring a full-time Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position runs from May through August. You will work on-site in Honolulu, Hawaii, gaining practical experience by applying engineering principles to real-world projects under the guidance of senior staff.
What you'll do#
- Apply professional principles and numerical models to engineering problems.
- Assist in preparing CAD drawings for contract documents and reports.
- Perform structural and geotechnical design calculations for tunnels, shafts, and excavation support.
- Support senior personnel with both office and field tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s program for Civil Engineering.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy and the ability to work well in a team.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Physical ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
