About the role#
We are looking for a full-time Civil Engineering intern to join our team for the summer of 2027. This position runs from May through August. You will work under the supervision of senior engineering staff to apply professional principles to real-world geotechnical projects. This role includes both office and field work, and some travel may be required.
What you'll do#
- Perform geotechnical field work, including observing subsurface exploration and conducting infiltration testing.
- Conduct construction observation and materials testing at various job sites.
- Handle laboratory testing tasks.
- Create basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS software.
- Assist engineers with the preparation of geotechnical proposals and reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering Bachelor’s program.
- Good oral and written communication skills plus computer literacy.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks and work outdoors.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
- A valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
