About the role#
Schnabel Engineering is seeking a full-time Civil Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer of 2027. This position focuses on applying professional engineering principles to real-world problems under the guidance of senior staff. You will gain practical experience through a mix of office and field work from May through August.
What you'll do#
- Perform geotechnical field work, including subsurface exploration and infiltration testing.
- Conduct construction observation and materials testing at job sites.
- Complete laboratory testing tasks.
- Create basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS software.
- Assist engineers with the preparation of geotechnical proposals and reports.
- Travel as needed to support project requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s program for Civil Engineering.
- A valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds routinely.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check.
- Comfort working outdoors and performing a variety of field tasks.
