Part-Time Produce Clerk

About the role#

Swan Valley Co-op is seeking a Part-Time Produce Clerk to join the team at our Food Store in Swan River, Manitoba. This role focuses on maintaining high standards of product quality, inventory management, and customer service within the produce department.

What you'll do#

• Act as a public relations representative for the Co-op within the community.
• Provide fast, friendly, and efficient customer service to all guests.
• Cut, prepare, and package fruits and vegetables into various tray sizes.
• Maintain assigned merchandise sections, ensuring strict adherence to first-in, first-out rotation and reporting close-dated products to the Produce Manager.
• Follow established procedures for trimming, preparation, washing, culling, and pricing.
• Assist the Produce Manager with ordering duties and inventory control.
• Perform general housekeeping to meet department image and safety standards.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of equipment and display cases according to specifications.

What you'll need#

• Previous experience in retail or a related industry.
• A passion for creating positive guest service experiences.
• Ability to provide fast, friendly, and efficient service.
• Experience following established procedures for produce trimming and preparation.
• Ability to assist with ordering duties and inventory control.
• An interest in pursuing a career in Retail Operations.
