About the role#
As a Part-Time Produce Clerk, you will serve as a public relations representative for the Co-op within the community. You will report to the Produce Manager and play a key role in maintaining department standards, supporting inventory control, and ensuring a positive experience for all guests.
What you'll do#
- Deliver fast, friendly, and efficient customer service.
- Cut, prepare, and package fruits and vegetables into various tray sizes.
- Maintain assigned merchandise sections by following first-in, first-out rotation procedures.
- Report close-dated products to the Produce Manager.
- Follow established procedures for trimming, preparation, washing, culling, and pricing.
- Assist with ordering duties and inventory control.
- Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain department image, safety, and sanitation standards, including the maintenance of equipment and display cases.
What you'll need#
- Previous experience in retail or a related industry.
- A passion for creating positive guest service experiences.
- Ability to provide efficient and friendly service.
- Experience following established procedures for trimming and preparation.
- Ability to assist with ordering duties and inventory control.
- Interest in pursuing a career in retail operations.
